That awkward moment when you realize Harry Potter is the only student in the entire school with glasses.

I am sick and tired of immature brats who have never touched photoshop a day in their lives attacking graphic makers for being upset that people on tumblr steal their graphics and gifs.

Because if you haven’t actually explored photoshop, you’d have no capacity to understand that gifs and graphics are just as much “Art” as hand drawn, or painting or anything else.

I hear people say “WELL YOU ARE USING COPYRIGHTED IMAGES SO I CAN DO WHAT I WANT”. Actually no. That would mean that somebody would be totally in the right to steal somebody’s painting of peter pan, take it to an art show, and claim that they made it.

It’s bullshit to me that people have so little regard for what graphic artists do that they don’t see their work as art and feel that they have the right to take it and receive credit for it. That people don’t realize that a single piece can take HOURS or DAYS in photoshop. That even the most simple piece of coloring takes an exceptionally creative mind, and it can take years to perfect coloring alone, let alone everything else that goes into making something in photoshop. The typography…fuck. Finding the right font and placement takes me minimum 30 minutes. The arrangement of your caps and other images. The use of overlay layers. The light manipulation. Blurring and sharpening. Hack, even just setting a GIF up is a tedious, boring process; and demands exceptional creativity when it isn’t just a cut and dry animation.

When you start slaving over your ART for hours only to have people scoff at you for taking it without your permission, then you can see how deeply it cuts. Until then, you have no fucking right to even talk about the subject, or claim that you have any authority to.
